Get Out and Vote!

Actually, this is voting that you can do right there at your computer, so you really don't have to get out anywhere. My nephew from Florida is in a baby photo contest at www.evenflo.com, and I could use your help to get more votes so that his mom and dad won't have to worry about the first year of college (or so that his mom and dad can go on an extravagant vacation...whichever way they decide to use the $10,000). Just go to the website and at the bottom of the page, click on "Baby, you're a star!" It is a little slow to load, but it will eventually come up. Once there, key in photo ID# 11917. It will take you to my nephew Brady's photo. He is adorable, isn't he?! There you can click to vote. You will get an e-mail to confirm your vote. You can vote everyday of the contest, if you want. If you vote at all, you will have my many thanks. Also, I can get you an autographed pic of Brady! Hey, you never know, he might be famous some day! -A

Negative Hip Points

There has been some time since the last post, because, quite frankly, I have been a little ticked at someone in C'ville over the past few days. I don't even know who this person is, but I am so mad at him/her that I could truly hurt him/her, not just because of what he/she did, but because of the way it made me feel about Charlottesville.
You see, I attended the Cowboy Mouth show at Starr Hill on Thursday night. The show was awesome, as expected, but the crowd was very small compared to the last CM show at SH. I believe this has a lot to do with the fact that we have musically oversaturated this market. Are you going to spend $15 to see CM, when you need that to pay part of the $37 fee to see Ziggy Marley? Great bands are going to get smaller crowds due to the bigger names coming to town. My opinion, and I digress...
I left the show and went home. The next day, Steve noticed that someone had keyed the passenger side of my car, the side which had been facing the sidewalk while parked on Main Street during the show. I was livid! Why would someone just randomly vandalize someone else's car? Drunk or not, you have to know that it is not right to do that. What is the purpose?! At first, it made me think about C'ville in general. I've always thought that C'ville had the best people in it. Sure, there is crime, but for the big feel of our fair city, we are small in the amount of random crimes. But wait...I did have 2 different break-ins into separate houses that I lived in while at UVA. And I also had someone break into my locked car while parked on the street a few years back. With this latest event tallied in, I started to feel a little differently about people in C'ville. The past few days, I have been looking at people thinking "are you the person who messed up my vehicle?" It made me a little angry and I did not want to post while I was angry. You may think "Angie, you sound a little angry now." On the contrary, I have had to let go of this situation, because it was driving me crazy. I just wanted you to know why I haven't posted in a few days. I also wanted to suggest that you get one of those little cameras to place in one of your side mirrors. Works like a charm! - A
