Why do they call it Labor Day if we don't work?

What a weekend! (Did you notice how I tried to distract you from the fact that I didn't post when I said I would? Good, I didn't think you would) The fun for me started on Thursday as I dined with the girls, Beth and JoAnne. We had a blast, as always, and decided to venture away from our usual visit to the X Lounge and go to Continental Divide. A few drinks, some Red Hot n Blues, and a tuna tostada later, I was fat, tipsy and happy. We then headed down to Maya to have a quicky visit with one of our favorite bartenders, Ted, before heading home to watch the Democratic National Convention. (By the way, Maya is a terrific place for martinis and some down-home food. When I have a longer visit there, I'll talk about it more, but in the meantime, check it out for yourself!) Then, it was home to see Obama speak. Wow! Inspirational can't even come close to describing it. It was beautiful. I'll try to be unbiased and watch the McCain stuff, too, but it has been a long time since a politician has truly inspired me. So, it will be hard for McCain to top it.

So, the weekend was great, too, but I'm getting a text. Oh, it's Barack. He wants me to give to the Red Cross in the wake of Gustav. (Again, inspirational!) I'll be back soon to talk about the weekend.- A
