Busy Weekend- As It Should Be Here
(UVA Men's Basketball at John Paul Jones Arena)
Sun-My first visit to the new John Paul Jones Arena did not disappoint, even though the UVA Men were playing some high school team. (Just kidding Morgan State!) JPJ is an incredible facility, which has already played home to some incredible concerts and events. Cirque du Soleil, Kenny Chesney, and James Taylor have visited The Jack (I prefer The John, but the rest of C'ville doesn't like that for some reason.). Besides a big basketball season, the Jack will also welcome Justin Timberlake, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Billy Joel in the near future. After the game, my friend and I ventured out to Continental Divide, home to the Red, Hot, and Blues nachos. Out of this world good! Then on to Wild Wing Cafe to watch some football. WWC-great wings, beer and sports.
The weekend started off with the traditional date night, dinner and a movie. Happy Feet is not only an enjoyable movie for the kids, but a stealth commentary on the environment and intolerance. A must see playing at Seminole Cinema 4. Saturday was a fun night with music trivia at Buffalo Wild Wings. (I won!) You can play trivia there any time that they are open. It's quite addictive. Hope your weekend was great!
(Beth Duffy of CBS 19 welcomes a student to the arena floor to find a Simon gift pack. Better pic below.)
